Flourishing Financially in Impossible Situations

By July 1, 2024 August 26th, 2024 No Comments

Welcome to July! We hope you’ve had a fantastic second quarter of the year. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. May God bless and strengthen you. This month, our theme is “Flourishing Financially.” Today, we will focus on how to flourish financially even in impossible situations.

Money is a means of exchanging value. Before money, people bartered goods and services. With the complexities of value, money was introduced. It’s crucial to have a skill or value to offer in exchange for goods or services.

In 2 Kings 4:1-7, a widow in dire straits came to Elisha, who asked what she had in her house. She replied, “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil.” Elisha instructed her to borrow empty jars and pour the oil into them. Miraculously, the oil kept flowing until all the jars were filled. She sold the oil, paid her debts, and lived on the remainder.

When struggling financially, run to God. He is the ultimate creator of value and will help you discover your worth. Matthew 6:26-34 teaches us not to worry about our needs, as God knows and provides for them. Seek God’s Kingdom and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

As a Christian, you add value wherever you are. Develop your skills and expertise, and remember that the value of what you have is determined by those whose problems your product or service solves. God’s system runs on love.

We pray that you receive divine inspiration on how to flourish even in impossible situations.

Welcome to the Final Week of April!

As we conclude our series on “Blossoming Through the Covenant,” let’s delve deeper into the profound effects of the covenant between God and humanity.

The foundation of God’s covenant with us is rooted in love. Without this love, our relationship with God becomes a form of servitude, resembling mere religion—an attempt to earn favor. Sadly, some still approach their faith in this way today. God initiated this covenant out of boundless love for us, establishing it as a covenant of love. When we enter into a blood covenant with God, it transforms our identity by making us one with Him. The apostle Paul used marriage as a powerful illustration of this covenant. In marriage, two individuals become one, mirroring the unity between Christ and His Church.

James 2:23 (NLT) highlights Abraham’s profound understanding of this relationship: “And so it happened just as the Scriptures say, ‘Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.’ He was even called the friend of God.” Abraham’s faith exemplified a deep relationship with God. Jesus emphasized the paramount importance of loving God wholeheartedly in Matthew 22:37-40, stating that all the law and prophets hinge on this foundational principle.

The connection between loving God and obeying His commands is inseparable. Scripture teaches us, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments,” and “those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me.” Abraham demonstrated radical obedience fueled by love when God tested him in Genesis 22, asking him to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac. Abraham’s unwavering obedience moved God to bless all nations through his descendants.

May God grant us the grace and strength to love Him deeply and obey His commands in every circumstance.
