“It is through gratitude for the present moment that the spiritual dimension of life opens up.”
– Eckhart Tolle
It’s no secret that most of us want “more.” More money, more time, more freedom. But this year, in order to take the territories God has promised, you must take time to show gratitude.
So, if you woke up this morning (and you had to because you’re reading this!) being able to breathe, stretch, move and think, you’re blessed. Regardless of your current situation, remember to maintain an attitude of gratitude. Because, you can’t get where you want to go without being thankful for where you are. After all, you probably are where you once prayed for.
So, take time out this year every morning to show gratitude – even if it’s as brief as 10 minutes. If you’re not sure how…
When you wake up think about how God’s been good to you and your loved ones, the career or business you have, financial situation, emotions, I mean everything.
Another great way to create a habit of expressing gratitude is to start a gratitude journal. I encourage you to reserve a notebook or a sheet of paper that you use to only write down the things that you’re thankful for. Successful people take the time to recognize these things because they understand that none of it is promised.
Do not take any day this year for granted. There is always something in your life to be thankful for. Start now.
Take action this week!
Every day for the next 7 days, write down at least 5 things you’re grateful for and watch your perspective shift. You’ll start to see more opportunities and you’ll start to get closer to the One who has gifted you all the things you probably once overlooked.
This week’s prayer
Lord, I Thank you for your love for me. I’m taking this time now to worship you for all the things that you’ve done and for who you are to me. Help me to maintain an attitude of gratitude every day, regardless of my circumstance. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
